General Sutherland Ancestry Tours of Scotland

Greetings Sandy, I'm doing some research on my mother's life in East Africa in 1941-3. She remembers meeting a Brigadier General Sutherland from Glasgow at a division headquarters in Abyssinia and later in Cairo, where he was in charge of a large force near the Giza pyramids. The General was one of several who were instrumental in getting her documents so she could leave the war zone and eventually emigrate to America, she was a free Yugoslav in Italian occupied Africa, and the Italians took her papers.

So far, I haven't been able to find any reference in my searches on the General. Is there a site you know of that might have some information about him? She thought he was about 60 years old at the time.

Thank you so much. Sincerely, Francisco Centurion.

Can anyone help ?
